International Day of the Girl
October 11 was the International Day of the Girl. The purpose of this day is to shed light on the challenges girls face, uplift them and to ensure fulfilment of their human rights. Girls have a fundamental right to a safe and healthy life, to an education and to be empowered to their true potential. Whatever path they choose whether it be a worker, teacher, leader, mother or mentor - the girls of today are the women of tomorrow. Temme Media is investing in the power of young women as we believe that empowering our future female generations will lead to a prosperous future for all.
On October 11, Temme Media partnered with Plan USA International and The Female Quotient to go out and spread the message, increase awareness and let everyone in Times Square know that #girlsbelonghere. Temme was also invited to document and partake in an evening of inspiring conversations from a diverse panel of women. A doctor, firefighter, comedian, chef and a scientist all shared stories with a common theme - that they were successful trailblazers in challenging occupational gender biases.
Malika, a Plan USA Youth Advisory Board Member showed wisdom beyond her years due to her intellectual nature, courageous spirit and feminist heart. She has been involved in social activism and advocacy for education and gender discrimination in youth. Malika's speech on International Day of The Girl was nothing short of inspiring. “I stand before you tonight to bring a call to action from a girl, to all girls. We have the power to empower and the duty to enable. The women in this room tonight are an example of what happens if you let girls tap into the potential they have. My greatest hope is that we can create a world that supports girls to choose who they want to be, that they can never be too ambitious and that they can never dream too big."

We want to create a driving force that supports, guides and elevates girls from all around the world to achieve their greatest potential while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
